Adding an event to Google Calendar with iOS and Mac

These instructions are meant to be a guide for adding an event to your GC google calendar from your mobile iOS device or Mac calendar. Though this can be a quick way to add information onto your calendar, the Goshen College ITS department suggests that you use Google Calendar in the browser form to edit these events since Google Calendar has much greater functionality.

*iCal is not a supported application*

iOS devices

  1.  Open Calendar app
  2. Press symbol in upper right hand corner
  3. When you make event select a "Calendar" under the "Goshen" category.
  4. Finish creating event.

Mac OS

  1.  Open Calendar app
  2. Press symbol in the upper left hand corner
  3. Open dropdown menu and select the Calendar you wish to post event to
  4. Finish creating event.

Please note that iCal does not have the full functionality of google calendar. It can only create events daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly, and every year. You will also be unable to change color or add tags using iCal. For more options when creating an event please use google calendar and it will update on your iCal app.
