Setting up Goshen Gmail account on Thunderbird

 *Note:  The Help Desk is no longer supporting Thunderbird. If you choose to use Thunderbird to access your Goshen College Gmail account, rather than doing it through a web browser at https://www.google.com you will not be able to receive any support assistance from the Help Desk. 

  • Open thunderbird client
  • Under accounts select email

  • a dialog box appears, click "Skip this and use my existing email"

  • type in your full Goshen email address and password
  • When the option appears click on manual config

  • Type in the information as shown below.
    • change incoming mail to imap.gmail.com
    • change outgoing mail server to smtp.gmail.com
    • Type your full email address with the @goshen.edu for username.
    • Click Re-test

 

  • Click done
