Wifi Connectivity Issues Following a Password Change

If you have changed your Goshen College password and find that you cannot connect to GC's wireless, below are instructions for devices and operating systems that you can follow to resolve the issue.

iPad

Tap on Settings. You will have to do one of the following two options:

Option 1

  • tap on Wi-Fi
  • tap on "gc"
  • tap "forget this network"   (If you don't see this option available, use the below instructions for Option 2)
  • tap on "forget"

OR Option 2

  • tap on General
  • scroll down to the bottom and tap on Profiles.
  • tap on the profile labeled "GC Wifi..."
  • tap on the Remove button
  • now tap on Wi-Fi
  • tap on "gc"
  • enter in your GC username and password to connect
  • tap on the Accept button to accept the new certificate

iPhone

  1. tap on Settings
  2. tap on Wi-Fi
  3. tap on "gc"
  4. tap "forget this network"
  5. tap on "forget"
  6. tap on wi-fi to get back to the previous window
  7. tap on "gc"
  8. enter in your GC username and password
  9. tap on the Accept button to accept the new certificate

Android Device

  1. tap on Settings
  2. tap on Wi-Fi
  3. in the list of available networks, tap on "gc"
  4. tap on "Forget"
  5. back in the list of available networks, tap on "gc"
  6. enter your username in the "Identity" field, and your GC password in the "Password" field
  7. tap "Connect"

Windows 7

  1. click on the Wireless icon in the System Tray
  2. click "Open Network and Sharing Center"
  3. click "Manage Wireless Networks"
  4. in the list of available networks to choose from, select "gc"
  5. click on the Remove button
  6. click on the Wireless icon in the System Tray
  7. click on "gc"
  8. click on the Connect button
  9. enter in your GC username and password
  10. verify you are on the Internet by trying to go to a website.  If you still cannot connect to the GC wireless, go to the following knowledgebase article and follow the instructions provided.

Windows 8

  1. hover your mouse in the lower right corner of the screen until the Charm Bar appears (or on the keyboard press the Windows key and the C key at the same time)
  2. in the Charm Bar, click on Settings
  3. next click on the WiFi symbol in the bottom right corner of the desktop screen
  4. select "gc"
  5. click the Connect button
  6. enter in your GC username and password
  7. verify that you are on the Internet by trying to go to a website.  If you still cannot connect to the GC wireless, go to the following knowledgebase article and follow the instructions provided.

Mac OS

  1. go into System Preferences
  2. click on Network
  3. click on "Wi-Fi"
  4. click on the Advanced button
  5. in the list of available networks to choose from, select "gc"
  6. click on the "-" minus sign to delete the network "gc"
  7. click OK
  8. click on the wi-fi icon in the menu bar
  9. select "gc"
  10. enter in your GC username and password
  11. verify you are on the Internet by trying to go to a website.  If you still cannot connect to the GC wireless, go to the following knowledgebase article and follow the instructions provided.
