Moodle: The Basics

  1. Find Your Course:

Your courses should appear on the Moodle home page with the current semester at the top. If you don't see a particular class you can find it through these steps: 

a.  Option 1: Search for your course from the main screen:

b. Option 2: Browse for your course beneath the heading “My Courses.”


  1. Change Topic names 
    1. On the right hand side of the screen, turn editing on.
    2. Click the edit button to the right of Topic 1 
    3. In this space, you can change the name of the topic, and also add summary content in the editor.
  1. Add content to your course

a.  Click the “Add and Activity or Resource” button to upload files, assignments, links, and more. You can also drag and drop files from your computer right onto Moodle and they will automatically upload.

b.  To reorder information, click the plus sign icon next to the item you want to move, and then drag and drop to where you want it to go.
