Add Notepad to Send To menu

These instructions are for the Windows 7 operating system:

So you want to edit or view a file in Notepad but when you right click the file and choose Send To you see that the Notepad option is missing. 
Here are the instructions to add Notepad to the Send To menu.

  • Click on the Start button.
  • type in the following path, replacing "username" with the username that you used to log onto your computer:  C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo
  • Right click and choose New, then choose Shortcut
  • In the Type The Location Of The Item field, type in   notepad.exe
  • Click on Next
  • In the Type A Name For This Shortcut field, change the name to Notepad
  • Click on Finish
