Schedule a Zoom Meeting in Google Calendar

  1. You need to have a Zoom account in order to schedule Zoom meetings. Go to https://zoom.us/ to create a free account. Note that free accounts allow for 40 minutes of meeting time. If you need to hold meetings longer than 40 minutes, you will need a Pro account. Set up your free account first, and then contact Erin Milanese to have your free account migrated to a Pro account.
  2. Create your calendar appointment in Google Calendar and invite the attendees.
  3. Click on the Add Conferencing button, and select Zoom Meeting.
  4. Save the meeting.

Attendees of your meeting will have a link in the calendar appointment that they can click on to join the meeting. Attendees do not need to have a Zoom account in order to attend a Zoom meeting that you have scheduled.

How to Attend a Zoom Meeting

Zoom meetings can be attended through the web browser on your computer, or the Zoom mobile application on an iPad, iPhone or Android device. Or, you can phone in from a landline or mobile phone. See this support article: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting

Note, if the computer you are using to attend a Zoom meeting does not have a built in camera and microphone, you will need to acquire an external camera and microphone/headset.
